About Hindu Higher Secondary School
Watrap, traditionally known as Vathirayiruppu—meaning “a land of unfailing fertility”—lies in the rain shadow region of the Varushanadu Hills of the Western Ghats. The roots of education in this fertile land began in the mid-19th century with the establishment of a modest primary school known as ‘Subbarayar School’.
By 1878, the school evolved into an Anglo-Vernacular School with around 50 students. With steady growth in both student strength and academic excellence, the institution flourished and was formally renamed in 1907 as:
The Hindu Secondary School and Chattram Committee
In 1948, it gained official recognition as a High School, and by 1978, it was further upgraded to a Higher Secondary School.

Academic Structure & Group Details
At Hindu Higher Secondary School, the Higher Secondary Section is divided into Science and Arts streams, each offering various groups tailored to students’ interests and future career paths. The medium of instruction is available in both English (EM) and Tamil (TM), with some groups offered under Self-Financed (SF) mode.
🔬 I. Science Stream
The Science stream is ideal for students who wish to pursue careers in engineering, medicine, computer science, or related fields.
Bio-Maths (EM)
Combines Biology and Mathematics
Suitable for students interested in medical, biotech, or life sciences.
CS-Maths (EM) – SF
Computer Science with Mathematics
Ideal for those inclined towards software, IT, and computer engineering fields.
II Group (TM)
Traditional science combination offered in Tamil medium.
A more localized curriculum focused on state requirements.
I Group (EM) – SF
A premium group under self-financed scheme.
English medium with a focus on advanced science topics.

AA Group (TM)
Possibly a vocational or commerce-focused track in Tamil medium.
BME (TM)
Likely stands for Business Management and Entrepreneurship.
Offers practical business and startup knowledge in Tamil.
